Not My Debt

I think a company called Link Financial are in the early stages of hassling me for a debt that's not mine.

 

It all started last night when I got a phone call from a lady asking for a Julie (I'm a bloke, so not me). I told her she had the wrong number she started getting funny & asking do I know a Julie (no I don't), whats the 1st line of my address (I'm not telling you), can I speak to Julie (I've already told you, you've got the wrong number & I don't know a Julie - I then hung up)

 

This morning I got a call (again number withheld) so I didn't answer. This time they left a message. It sounded like the same woman (called herself Deb) I spoke to last night and she asked Julie to give her a call on 08447360022. I browsed this number & found out it's linked to a company called Link Financial, and to be wary of them.

 

All I can think of is that my phone number might have belong to a Julie before I got it.

 

Any advice so I can nip this in the bud would be appreciated.

Thanks for the quick response & reassurance. I'll just ignore them from now on, and follow your advice if I receive any mail.

Best thing to do is ignore the phone or answer it and place it to one side and replace 20 mins later

i got a similar call, i told them to wait while i find out if any one has heard of the person they were asking for, i went back to the phone after approx 20 mins and they had hung up, never got any more calls from them,

Just a quick update. I've heard nothing more from Link Finances:)

However the last couple of days I've received a call from a new unknown number (haven't answered, & don't intend on doing so). After investigating this number it appears to be linked to another debt company called Moorcroft.

Moorcroft are way up there on the bad apple tree. lol . . . dont worry as previously advised ignore them they have no powers to do you any harm.

you have to be careful, there are 2 companies with same name,(moorcroft) not sure if there connected, one offers debt solutions, the other is a debt recovery firm , best to ignore them, and seek further guidence from your local c.a.b ,

moorcroft are a debt solution co, they only want to help you .like any other debt solution company they will try and sort out your debts, best not to get involed with any of these companies as they charge you for services, if your in debt go to c.a.b , they can draw up a repayment plan for you to repay all the people what you can afford.

 

Moorcroft are a debt collection agency and they are one of the most vicious ones. they certainly offer no help apart from helping you pay them !!!!! , Sorry sailor but you need to do a search on this forum for Moorcroft you will have years of reading on how bad they are. . . . they specialise in statue barred and unenforceable debts and use door collectors who knock pretending to be your friend. . .

 

To reiterate Ryme, just ginore them you have no association with them so no need to take any action.
