A certain DCA are having a very tough New Year with me. I couldn't possibly mention their name though :p

HAVE YOU BEEN TREATED UNFAIRLY BY CREDITORS OR DCA's?

Najib Nathoo, chief executive,

1st Credit

Since the last Credit 100 list was

published, debt buyer 1st Credit

has been through the mill, suffering

immense negative publicity when it

had restrictions imposed on it by

the Office of Fair Trading in February.

The company was accused of

threatening legal action when it was

unlikely that route would be taken,

and was warned about dealing

appropriately with sensitive cases

involving vulnerable individuals.

Not an easy first year as chief executive

for Nathoo, who has been forced to rethink the way 1st Credit

operates. It remains to be seen how the company will bounce back

in 2010.

You have to have sympathy, don't you?

Ho Ho Ho

Only on page 5 so far and the first thing that bit was Andrew Bartle(Lowells) making a case for pre-purchase info. This confirms what we already knew. DCA's buy lemons all the time and now they want to see whether the paperwork is in order before they buy. Tough times eh! Shame :D

became the third collections company to have restrictions

imposed on it by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT)

under the regulator’s new ‘no prisoners’ approach. The

OFT used requirements against Link to alter policy on

contacting neighbours of debtors, stating that agencies

must not ask neighbours to pass messages to trace subjects.

Link’s response, a brief statement welcoming the

clarity, was one of the wisest industry PR reactions of

the year. .

Well, at least it puts a few faces to Targets.

We don't want anyone innocent getting caught in the firing line, now do we!

Many are so amazingly corpulent, it would be quite a challenge to miss them...even deliberately.

Page 5 of the PDF was a complete delight, the DCA lardy bloater measure went off the end of the scale!

Cheers,

BRW

Not sure I fancy Robinson Way's chances after their management buy out.

They will have more than £1m per month outgoing just paying the capital back on the loan, let alone the interest.

They will be sadly missed.
