Hi Grizza

My partner has several Payday Loans that are due for repayment today. My problem is that she as sustained head injuries in a work related accident, and now has no memory of the period from 1990 to now.

I want to write to these Payday Loan Companies explainging the situation and to tell them it could be several months before they can expect there money back. I also wanted to request that they do not apply any charges or interest in view of my partners situation. I am, at present, her 24hr Carer so I want to stop the constant telephone calls and emails.

I have no way of getting into her bank accounts to repay them.

Can you provide any quidance or template letter that I could use?

If so, I would be very grateful.

Best regards

Hi, as some of you may know, I have dealt with and beaten most Payday companies at their own game, however two have come up that I beleive a ripping people off without them knowing!

The two companies are www.ioweya.co.uk & http://www.wagedaybank.co.uk/. They are promising loans, which do not seem to materialise, and seem only to be brokers. Where they seem, in my opinion, to rip people off is that they charge a premium rate text service to apply for a loan. They also seem to have no contact details on their websites!!!

If anyone can help me with obtaining their contact details, I can start action against them both.

FYI if nothing else !

What d'ya know it would seem there is a distinct possibility Capital Finance one is actually behind Ioweya - would explain how they got my contact details in the first place :mad2:

so just to add to another of their running ventures in order to gain their own debtors card details it would seem!!!

Thanks so much for taking a look and posting up Linda,

clarification info is greatly appreciated.

Got to say further to my email sent to James Keeble all correspondence has suddenly ceased from Ioweya!

Is there anywhere we can take this officially? as I feel it is really naughty to try obtaining card details in this way which clearly they might possibly be doing

I've learnt not to touch such facelessness (there is no contact details on the site but the terms layout look v similar to that of their CFO site so I'm afraid for some more vunerable people out there who may think it is genuine.

Have you got an e-mail address for this James Keeble? I'm getting a text message daily from this IOWEYA asking me to apply for a loan! Took a PayDay loan out a couple of years ago during a moment of utter madness. Paid it straight back and have never touched them since! No idea how they got my details though as I got a new number a few months ago and havent applied for anything since then....or in the previous couple of years!

Hi there

I'll pm you it though you might have found it by now I guess!

Well... I had peace for a whole week and then it starts again

Never thought I'd have to change numbers because of this nonsense but sadly that is what I'm having to do

I'm currently a defaulting payday loan-er with history of Capital Finance One :-( I believe they feel I owe them money still even after my case was upheld and will stop at nothing to obtain card details. I've had more nuisance calls and texts from Ioweya then all of the creditors put together!

Taking payday loans puts you on the sucker list, sorry.

Just keep away, don't respond to anymore text messages.

Don't keep any funds in the account you've given details of

I suspect it is some marketing [problem] or mickey take broker, if not linked to a payday loan company which of course will be denied - the site is far from 'legit' there are no contact details.

Doubt we'll ever get a tel number - that would be to easy !

I'll like to see it barred, but in the process of changing numbers that should end it.

This is great Martin - one down many more to go.

I feel so many are bogus sites, not that I'm interested just curious who is behind giving out my details! grrr I accept I'll ever really know as must say as well as the payday loan circle I was in there was also a broker sting

I had another funny phone call during this week received to my old mobile number which I'm still quite attached to and don't want to really switch of (think I might have russled them as they actually hung up when I started probing) at least it wasn't a malicious or silent call this time

You get to a point where you start thinking this happened after x, could that be linked....

I've done the reporting of calls to Action Fraud, who calls me site, gone ex directory for the home line, taken details of 192.com, considering doing the CIFAS protection

With my new numbers I'd hope to eradicate the prob once and for all.

We are in the process of adding comprehensive and detailed info for our PDL forums.

One of the difficulties many have is knowing who they are dealing with.

I have for a couple of weeks been compiling some info which will give specific company info and associated trading names/their registered office which licence they are trading under etc etc.

It is not an easy task since I have already identified over 300 different names who are trading under a variety of brands and guises.

2 of the big names-Toothfairy and Wonga are both currently awaiting decisions from the OFT following investigations.

In the case of Wonga the OFT are also looking at Quickbridge and Sameday Cash.

Amazingly Wonga have submitted a new application for another licence under the title Wonga decisions Limited

Its purpose is listed as Credit reference agency and has 3 named officers who are associated with the other licences.

It is very disturbing that a company who has demonstrated that it cannot comply with requirements as a CC licence holder, should be considered for another licence.

This one is still open so no decision has been taken.

Secondly.I feel it is important for our members to be aware of these companies who are introducing more brand names after they have had bad media press and high complaints on consumer focus.

I have noticed that Toothfairy have a raft of new trading names pending for acceptance on their CC licence the list comprises of;

It is also a concern that it appears they are looking to be offering card related services.

There are many people who would not ordinarily go anywhere near a payday loan, but may be tempted to consider a prepaid money card or merchandiser card.

We do not know at this point what exactly these will be,but it is reasonable to assume they will come with the same high rates of APR we see with the Payday loans.

If anyone has any suggestions of what they would like to see added in these forums please add your thoughts.

Some of the things we are looking to be offering is

1.Comprehensive list of all payday loan companies and linked associations.

2.A top 20 list of the highest and lowest Aprs

3.Individual sub groups for the main PDL Cos-this will make things easier for users.

4.Published guidance for fair dealing and business practice from the OFT

5.Complaints data from the FOS as available-see at a glance who is the worst.

6.Taking a look at terms and conditions.

7 templates for dealing with your own complaints and responding to threats of legal action.

That is a start.

Yes it has to be one or the other.

Given the very very large areas of advertising that these people were engaged in (the internet is saturated with them )

There would be no shortage of complainants if they were not doing things by the book or else not properly licenced.

Ae email to the OFT may not be a bad idea.

when you enter your mobile phone number on different payloan website you should give them false mobile phone number so their cannot contact you. These texts are breaking the Law on Data protection act

You should change your mobile phone number (dont give it to payloans) just give it to your banks only.

Yes this particular address is connected to around 15 Consumer Credit licence holders and probably more.

In some instances you will find that the same officers are also listed on a multitude of companies.

In this instance it appears that many are using 145-157, St. John Street, London, EC1V 4PW as their registered offices.

Quite often a company will exist as a Secretarial service-these are used in providing a registered office often well away from the main trading operation.

For example principle place of business is Sheffield-registered office London.

Many of the foreign companies who operate here as Body Corporate (incorporated outside UK) will use these companies for service of documents or correspondence.

Most of the Payday loan companies operating in the UK are US.

Some are affiliated to the BOA and the other big names often seen on here.

They get around the requirements by having multiple CC licences with variations and deviants of addresses.

Thanks Iaintw I appreciate what your saying

But I've not been applying for anymore blooming ****** loans! thats my whole entire point!

How can these companies all be based in the city of London near enough in close proximity to other payday companies and no-one know anything about them! it's all so strange distressing and quezy

How come the St John's St address for Easy Loans is that of 247 Moneybox ?

Why is there a connection to 88 Wood Street for Eze Loans and once Payday UK !!!! (who also go under Monthend Money etc, etc) am I missing something?

Why does Capital Finance One have around 5 other seperate ventures under it's belt?

What is the link between Cashoo Money, Power Loans, One Stop Shop Loan etc...

I could go on...
