I already have a couple of ATOS threads, but feel that this one does need a thread on its own.

A friend of mine has told me about his ATOS assessment, which I think you can guess what happened. Anyway, said friend has long suffered from arthritis, particularly in his hands and feet, which has resulted in them becoming very brittle and easily broken. So much so that he's due in the next few days to have surgery which will render both thumbs useless. Of course, he's been deemed fit for work.

The moral of the story is that if you wear a zip top or drawstring tracksuit bottoms, this WILL count against you. No, it didn't cross the 'doctors' mind to ask whether he zipped/tied his own clothing (for the record, he can't).

And clearly he jogged there :)

These 'medicals' really irritate me - to say the least. You lose points for turning up I suspect. (Really. Notes in my pile of appeal info from DWP state 'had no problem attending the medical' ergo no problems with mobility. Grrr).
