Does anyone know these guys? Know what to expect?

I've just had a notice of assignment (one from Argos Card and one from DLC in the same envelope) telling me they have bought my alleged Argos Card debt.

I've cca'd Argos and just received an application form, I have also SAR'd them and not received everything either.

Have you given them 40 days to reply to your SAR?

I should add Hillsden Securities are a shower of bluffers run by a man called Tony Locke. Take anything he says with a pinch of salt.

They have one of my MBNA accounts. I wrote to them telling them the account was in dispute and, although received a reply, haven't had much hassle aside from a letter threatening a home visit which I ignored.

Yeah, they sent me lots of screen shots but very little else. No default notice, no statements, no other correspondence than these screen shots with abbreviations that dont correspond with the information sheet they sent me.

I've reported them to the IC, and written to them saying that if they dont send me all the information I have requested then its safe to presume it does not exist and therefore cannot "reappear" at a later date or be used in court. Heard nothing back and then got this assignment letter this morning.

Just a thought, but some of the earlier Argos CCA's I've seen don't appear to be enforceable (but later ones are).

When did you take this out and can you post up your application form with personal details removed?

Its not enforceable, its just an application form with no prescribed terms at all.

Oh well, just sit back and relax then Natalie!! ;)

I normally just send a dispute letter after their second communication also telling them not to phone me at home or visit, just to be on the safe side.

Is it not against OFT regulations to sell a debt that is in dispute?

Don't think so as such...it's certainly legal.

What the guidance says is that debt collection activities should cease and provides a list of what these are...collecting money being one of them!!
