My GF got a ticket while at work, and paid it pretty much immediately. After looking around on the forum, I've seen the ticket does not state 'Date of issue' on the main body, instead it says 'Served on'. However, it does state on the attached payment slip 'Date of Issue', although according to the topic below, it must say it on the main body, and is irrelevant if stated on the payment slip.

So, is there a chance she can get a refund for this? If so, where do I start, as I've never done this before!

That thread is 'years' old the legislation changed in 2008 so the wording you quote is now correct.

Let's not raise any false expectations. Assuming this is a LA issued PCN, once paid it is very tough to get a refund. Payment is taken as an admission of liability by the LA and there is no formal process to get a refund (other than through the tough legal process of restitution).

To get a discretionary refund, truly exceptional reasons will need to be shown.

The only interpretation permitted on this post (or any others I may have made) is that this is what I would personally consider doing in the circumstances discussed. I receive an unwieldy number of private messages. I am happy to respond to messages posted on open forum but am unable to respond to private messages, seeking advice, when the substance of that message should properly be on the open forum.

Many thanks for your assistance and understanding on this.
