Hired carpet cleaner from hss, wife was using it and the handle snapped off making it unusable.

 

She was using it as per the instructions, it was a far from new unit. Will she need to pay whatever they charge in terms of damage fee's, or is there justifiction for arguing "not fit for purpose intended" as if it were a new item we had bought and that had happened.

 

Anyone got any advice when taking it back?

Just be honest. They'll know from the equipmentrecord how long it has been in use and may be happy to replave it with another - things DO wear out, so I doubt it will be a major issue unless it looks as though it has been misused.
