hi, can anybody assist with a nasty situation im having with rossendales? they originally requested payments of £100 p/w regarding a council tax bill, there was no way on earth i could afford this so i made an offer of £25 p/w which they refused and made it £50 p/w with the first paymend being due on 02/12.

on 03/12 i made a payment of £90 at a paypoint vendor thinking i would only need to pay £10 the following week. Today (10/12) however i received a letter dated 07/12 stating that i have defaulted and unless i can pay the full £1100 bailiffs will be instructed to remove goods, i dont even think i have £1100 in goods for them to take.

I have just called them and they said that they didnt receive payment until the 7th and asked where i made the payment which is when my credit ran out:-(

im currently unemployed and unable to sign on due to an anxiety problem which im seeking help for. can anybody help?????

Will move your thread and re-title it Benny.

Are Rossendales and the Council aware that you are unemployed ?

Are you on benefits ?

Any more background info you can give ?

How much are arrears and when was liability order.

Have you informed the Council that you are unemployed ?

Have they visited you and what paperwork has been given and what fees have been added ?

Please also confirm that you didnt let them in.

i have been issued a walking possesion agreement on the 02/09, but the things listed are wrong and would barely cover £200 let alone £1000:confused: does this mean they can just arrive tomorrow and take anything they want?

Benny,

Can you put up on here what is listed on the WPA. There may be things that they are not allowed to add to levy on.

This information will help those who have expert knowledge of bailiff matters.

Hi benny. Being unemployed and having a medical condition [i presume your GP knows about your anxiety] surely places you within the vulnerable group that bailiffs should not be chasing...

I believe those who might be considered vulnerable include the following:

the elderly;

people with a disability;

the seriously ill;

the recently bereaved;

single parent families;

pregnant women;

unemployed people; and,

those who have obvious difficulty in understanding, speaking or reading English.

Cool. I'd write to the council outlining your illness and unemployment status. Let them know you are particularly vulnerable and their use of bailiffs in this situation is aggravating your condition. Let them know, should they require it, that your GP is willing to write in your support.

Copy the letter to the bailiff - snail mail will do for him! But I would personally take the council letter in. There may well be a letter template you can adapt on here somewhere - the place seems to be overflowing with stuff!

Btw are you in receipt of the correct benefits? Don't answer in this forum, there is a very good benefits forum on this site too - you'll find me there as well...

Good luck

Rae
