I set up a monthly direct debit with BG which was subsequently increased after a reading was taken.

Just found out that the account is in credit for over £400. They are paying this back to me and reducing the monthly direct debit which I am happy with.

Any recourse for claiming back intrest on the money they held? They never once contacted me about reducing the monthly payment.

Thanks

You could look at the energy ombudsman site but to be honest, I'm not to sure if its worth making a claim for interest.

I would just be delighted I was getting a refund and they were not just going to leave it as a credit on the account:)

the likelihood of them paying you any interest is second to none. It just doesnt happen unfortunately, which is kind of immoral, especially as BG charge if you are late in payin!
