Please can anyone help me. I sold my son's car for him but mistakenly gave the whole log book and didn't complete the buyer or seller section. I called the new owner and they said they would complete it and send it on but i am really worried that they don't do it or leave it for months. The car is declared sorn so if they park it on the road there may be road tax penalties. I have emailed the DVLA and have a copy of the receipt saying i sold it but is there any way i can remove the legal responsibilities of the car from my son if the new buyer doesn't register it. Am worrying myself silly, please please help.

Thank you for your help. Have sent recorded delivery letter today, faxed it and emailed - although they did reply to the email saying they wouldn't accept it as they needed a signature. Am feeling a little better, will be happy when i get confirmation it is no longer my sons car, thanks again. M
