I think people will need more information such as:

Were you legally working there ?. How long had you been there ?

Has the company actually gone into receivership/administration ?

What were the actual grounds for closing the company down ?

Have you approached the Job Centre/DWP ?

EErr..He probably can't..at least not easily. If its in administration there are all sorts of hoops to jump through if you are owed money, i doubt wether your son would be top of the list I'm afraid.

It is of course fraud to write a cheque knowing there isnt enough money to cover it. It would seem you need quite specialist advice.

Has the firm been placed into some sort of Insolvency i.e Liquidation or Administration? If so find out who the Insolvency Practitioner is and contact them. They will advise you how to claim any unpaid wages through the Govt. At the moment it is taking about 6 weeks for these payments to be made.

If your employer Company has not been placed into Liquidation or Administration what did C & I say to the employees? Or was it HMRC that closed it down?

The Administrator should have given all employees an RP1 form to complete and send to them
