My 40" sony LCD screen went blank, no picture but has sound; it is just over two years old at a cost of £600. could not find receipt, but had credit card statement.

Anyway spoke to Tesco and said they have a procedure to deal with claims:

Went to tesco store got a form and filled it in and sent it off.

In the meantime took TV to local authorised Sony repair shop and got estimate ( inverter that runs the screen packed up; part £70 plus £75 labour).

Got a letter from Tesco, within days, apoligising that I had this problem and could not give me a replcaement or money back as over the 12 months but got a cheque for £270 to cover repair and inconvenience: Result. well done Tesco.:D
