I guess it’s morally wrong but not illegal!?    I read a thread were a PayPal employee said “paypal WILL take you to court and WONT let it lie, they have a specialist team that chase negative accounts over a ceratain amount which I’ll defo meet that criteria

I had a letter from these the other day asking me to call them on an urgent matter, curiosity got the better of me so I called them today after I had sent them an email asking for details of this urgent matter. I did not receive a reply. any way I called them, stupid me I know as I knew I had not any debts, but you know that niggling feeling inside that you just have to find out.

Well apparently its from Sky?? in Jan 2005 from an address I had moved out from in the october 2004. I was paid up and wrote to sky that I was moving plus I called them. Now I get this letter in the name of miss and just the first initial and last name. Im not a miss by the way and surely they should of had my first name. any way this is not the first time that I have had debt letters for this address at around this time for other things and worked out that some one had stolen my identity that had moved in that address and that matter had been cleared up. Unfortunately I havnt anything now to prove that I was not at the address at the time they have stated and they want me to prove that I wasnt living there or that I had sky at this time, this is 4 years ago who keeps this sort of information??? I have moved 5 times since then and paperwork gets lost. any help with this will be most appreciated.

You have to say that you moved out in october 2004. They have to prove the contrary if they wish to take this any further.

It is not for you to disprove beyond a letter. It is for them to either bog off or prove.

Ahh thanks for that.. I did say to them to prove I was there and they argued that I had to prove it or they would take the matter further.. I would contact my old landlord but they are no longer in business and they were a shoddy lot anyway and getting information from them was like getting blood from a stone .. im looking through paper work now to see if there is something that would prove I was not there. I would gladly send it to them with a picture of me sticking up two fingers at them

Simply write back by recorded delivery informing them of the detail you have provided above. IT IS UP TO THE NUMPTIES TO PROVE OTHERWISE.

Never go to any trouble for collection agents.

I dont get it I really dont. any way hopfully case closed and I wont hear from these numpties again

dont forget to request a reciept for the email with the prove you sent them it. you can do so by clicking the tools menu in windows mail and selecting request receipt. that way once they open the email youll get an email confirming it was opened and read as prove that they recieved it. Alot of these DCA will deny they received it, so if they deny receiving it you simply send them a copy of the emails receipt showing when your email was opened by them and in somecase who it was opened by.

I personally would also add to the email, "heres the prove that i was not at the address at the time in question, so now you can **** off." lol :D
