I am about to buy a new car from a Mazda dealership, partly funded by an HP agreement through Mazda Finance.

Originally, the dealership was going to deliver the car to my home (300 miles away) but they are now saying that as I am taking out finance through them, I will have to collect the car myself. The reason they gave me for this is that consumer credit (HP) agreements have to be signed on the premises where the credit licence is held.

Is this true?

Thanks.

I think it is true. Check out "Off Trade Premises Agreements".
