hi all

back in january 2007 myself and my wife purchased a 2005 nissan almera with welcome at the extortionate price of £7000...needed a car we were desperate its how these monkeys make there money though aint it ..the paymenst per month were £230 we kept up the payments for 12 months with no issues but then my wife was made redundent and we just could not keep up the payments on said vehical...we explained to welcome our circumstances and they didnt give a rats behind offered no help at all and basically said pay up or lose your car ..and tryed to steer my wife in to paying over 600 quid in missed payments over the phone.. it was by sheer luck that i walked in at that moment and stopped her from doing so after the moron on the other end of the phone had reduced her to tears ..i then said to them we cant afford it and do what ever it is that you have to do and put the phone down on them ...we never ever received any kind of default notice in the post at any time never once did we have any kind of correspondence with them via mail..2 weeks later they phoned and told me that they were repossesing the car ..not once did i agree to this but they said they would anyway..as luck would have it my brother had an old nissan he was going to trade in for a new car but being the kinda guy he is gave me the car instead so now i had 2 cars on my drive one waiting for welcome to get off there back sides and collect it ...9 weeks later and still no contact with welcome i come home from work one day with my wife to find the almera has gone and a letter through the letter box from someone collecting the car on behalf of welcome ..so thus i called welcome and asked for an explanation..told them they had not even got the keys or paperwork apart from the logbook which was in the glove box they said it did not matter and they would deal with the paperwork and not to worry and that was the end of the matter ...3 months later i get a call from welcome saying that they had sold the almera and there was an outstanding balance and that myself and my wife need to pay this off i asked how much they would not answer i asked for it in writing and that a new credit agreement be written up for the amount and they would not do so now i get a call from them 5 times a week and i just hang up on them basically saying if you cant tell me what i want to hear then i wont pay you ...not once have i been told in writing or otherwise how much i owe even though i have asked .all i have got is a letter demanding 20 quid for phone calls from welcome to myself and as far as im concerned they can shove those where the sun dont shine ..to top it all they didnt tell the DVLA of the change of ownership and i was hit with a £50 fine but i contested it and told them it was welcomes screw up and the case was dropped ...so can anyone tell me where i stand on this and if welcome really have a leg to stand on ..its been almost 12 months of this crap and im really getting sick of it now .
