I recently contacted a debt managment agency called Debtsolve Direct with a view to handling a large level of unsecured debt. I worked out an arrangement with them whereby they would negotiate with my creditors to freeze interest and charges, for a total cost of £250 per month from me. I have paid one istallment of this amount.

Since then, they seem to have gone rather quiet, not answering their 'phone and not reponding to emails. I rather fear that they have either deliberately ripped me of or have quietly gone out of business. One of my creditors has contacted me yesterday about my debt.

Anyone know anything about them, or have any suggestions as to what I should do next?

Don't know anything about them.

Why pay them when you can do it all yourself.

The necessary letters are all here.............and you aren't wasting £250.00

I would suggest that you have a good look around the site.

Template letters are here -

Why not start a thread in the relevant creditor forum and you'll get plenty of good advice far cheaper than what you've paid.

BTW, if you've paid the fee by credit card, see if your card company will refund you. ;)

I have never heard of this company, but there are other DMP companies such as CCCS and Payplan who do not charge anything for their services.
