Do creditors have to obtain CCJS before they can petition for BR.

Hi if by BR you mean bankrupcy the answer is no.

 

A Statutory Demand can be sent providing the debt is over £750.

 

However I believe that the Stat Demand route is against OFT guidance.

both routes prove to the court that you owe the money and so a petition can be brought n the fact that you have not paid the due debt

No, they do not have to issue the CCJ's, however, in a lot of cases they do go through the proceedings of CCJ, then charging order then stat demand, but this is not guaranteed x

Only if they have no intention of proceeding with a bankruptcy petition.
