Tesco has launched a virtual store on eBay offering electrical products including iPods for less than £20. The Tesco Outlet site features returned and repaired items such as televisions, digital cameras and vacuum cleaners from brands including Sony, Philips and Samsung. Customers can bid against each other in auctions in the hope of picking up a bargain in what is a first for a UK supermarket. Other items are available to buy immediately for a set price. There was a 99p starting price in an auction for a Canon DC95 DVD Camcorder yesterday, while an iPod shuffle is available to buy now for £19.97 – they usually cost two to three times that amount.

A Sony 32-inch flatscreen television is being sold for £343.97, excluding postage. All products sold via the site come with a 12-month warranty and customers have 14 days to return a product if they do not want it, as long as it is unused.
