Hi guys am new to this type of forum and not sure where to turn. I am disabled and can't work therefore my fiancee is the only income earner in the household. He recieved a letter from a debt companie called 1st credit saying he owed a company called box clever money from when he had a tv form them aound 6 to 7 years ago. The tv broke he told them and he had to go else where for a tv. That was the last he heard from them and so thought the matter was over now this company have contacted him saying he owes money. What should we do. He has asked them for paperwork to show what he owes and when he last paid and why he owes is this right please help:confused:

If no payment has been made or written acknowledgement of the debt for six years (five in Scotland) then it will be Statute Barred & they cannot take enforcement action. Send them this; http://www.consumerforums.com/resources/templates-library/86-debt-collectors/599-letter-sent-when-debt-is-statute-barred
