just been looking on this forum and read a few posts that say something about only charging for the last 12 months, whats this about? cant a supplier only bill for the past 12 months or something?

 

can some 1 clear this up?

This is part of the Code of Practice for Accurate Bills otherwise known as the Billing Code.

 

"The Code of Practice for Accurate Bills says, among other things, that:

  • if you do not receive a bill for more than a year and it is the energy supplier’s fault, you do not have to pay any outstanding debt for energy you used more than a year ago."

That is the gist of it, there are a lot of ifs and buts, and it can be difficult to get the company to apply this but that right does exist and should be pursued.
