Hi Everyone

I have been struggling over the last couple of months with money, as my partner got made redundant....

So what a stupid thing to do, we decided to take out a payday loan through PoundsTillPayday a couple of months ago, well this is the third month and it has come to the point where we cannot afford to pay them back on the 30th November as the money will not be in the bank...

What do we do? Do we cancel the Direct Debit? Will I occur any charges? I am worried sick over it and do not know what to do....

Any response will be helpful?

Thanks in advance :)

Pounds Till Payday Will Hastle You For A Few Weeks And Pass It On To A Dca Called Clarity

They Dont Default You And Clarity Will Set Up A Payment Arrangement

Important

Cancel Your Bank Cards, Ask Your Bank To Put A Stop On The Cards And Issue New Ones.

If Not They Will Still Debit The Cards By A Continuous Credit Mandate

They Just Want There Pound Of Flesh And You Will Get There

This Is From Personal Experience

Clarity will write you a letter and will be much more professional in their handling of this.

The biggest advice here is to cancel your debit card and your direct debit. If they have your debit card number they will milk your bank account for every penny you have. It is then almost impossible to get the money back - in fact you probably wont.

Please don't panic - it is an understandably difficult situation to be in but PTP won't care - Clarity will be much easier to deal with.

Take care and try to stay calm.

HI THERE

I DEFAULTED WITH PTP LAST MONTH. THEY ADD ON£59 INITIALLY-THEY WOULDN'T ANSWER MY EMAILS TELLING THEM MY SITUATION. THE ADVICE IS NOT TO DEAL BY PHONE AT ALL BUT I CONTACTED THEM AFTER A FEW CALLS AND DISCUSSED MY CASE AND BEREAVEMENT ETC WITH SOME ONE CALLED ELDRIDA? I THINK. ANYWAY THEY COULDN.T ACCEPT ANYTHING BUT FULL PAYMENT- THEY HOLD ONTO THE ACCOUNT INHOUSE THEN PAss IT ON - IM ASSUMING ITS TO CLARITY SO I WILL HEAR IN DEC SOMETIME - WAS INITIALLY WORRIED BUT AFTER THE CALL I FEEL MUCH LESS STRESSED AFTER READING SOME HORROR STORIES - IT DEPENDS WHO YOU SPEAK TO. GOOD LUCK AND HANG IN THERE.

If you can set up a separate account to have your salary paid into that would be a good idea, some of these companies have a habit of 'dipping' into your account when they think fit to see if you have funds paid in. They go for amounts like £1 or £3 and sometimes £10.

They can't dip into my account as I have reported my debit card lost and its been cancelled, also cancelled the direct debit on the account.... I can't set up another current account as I have bad credit rating and I like banking with the bank I have had for the last 10 years. Do they have a right to dip into your account when you haven't authorised them to do this, no that is fraud and yes I am sure they can get done for this...

Thanks for the advice...

When you sign up I am sure they have some sort of clause which in basic terms means they can take the money how they see fit. Just beware, even though your card is cancelled sometimes they can get round this and leave you short. What i havedo is set up a savings account with my bank so i can transfer everything into that and then just dip in when i need some. Its a hassle but it means i keep the money not them

Cancelled Direct debit today, also cancelled my debit card as well. Just wandering are PTPD allowed to re-set the direct debit up without my permission?

The bank said I can cancel this on my side, but they can set this back up if I have previously agreed to this, is this true??

Thanks in advance

Calls started today, apperantly because I cancelled my direct debit it has been passed onto an account manager, she rang today asking why i cancelled the DD and also when am I going to pay, because they don't do rollover's...I said I sent a email explaining I have been made redundant (with no redundancy pay as only been there 1 year) and can't afford to pay it back, well that was it she started giving me the stuff, like you signed the contract etc...

She said she is going to call back in a week's time, do I answer the call as they only have my mobile phone number and nothing else...If I ignore the calls will they pass it onto the collections department as previously said by a few people on here

Thanks in advance
