Hi everyone.

I've been a member here for a while but don't think I've ever posted anything...now you may never see the back of me;)

Well, knowing that my pdl's were going into default today (simply because I realised that constantly rolling over is NOT helping me out at all), I spent a lot of yesterday reading the forum before calling the bank to report my debit card 'lost'. So, that done, and pretty sure that neither QQ or PDE will be emptying my a/c today, I've sent off the emails explaining my current situation, asking for a payment plan, requesting all contact be by email or Royal Mail and insisting (for what it's worth) that they refrain from calling me at work. Oh, and asking them to freeze interest/additional charges. I think that's all I need to do right now if my understanding of the posts I've read is correct?

I'll just sit back and wait now...

Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for the advice I've gleaned from their posts - hopefully, I'll get out of this mess and come out smiling..eventually..

Wishing you luck with this issue. I have just one left now and will be paying that off next month YAY.

I fully believe that if you pay off the loan in any particular month they should NOT charge the 'rollover' fee as well.

Hopefully now the FOS are getting involved in complaints about these companies they may get the FSA involved (and ALL these types of companies should be registered with the Ministry of Justice IMHO).

Bog standard reply from QQ

'We received your email regarding your loan balance and your situation has been noted. Collection procedures will continue until an acceptable payment arrangement is made.

Please call our Collections Department to set up a scheduled payment plan.

QuickQuid Collections Department

Direct Line: 0808 234 4561

Fax: 0808 101 1381'

I have no intention of calling them so just emailed them again asking them to keep it in writing, offering them a monthly payment by SO..

Deffo keep everything in writing. I would be a bit wary of paying them by SO as this may give them access to your bank account again. We have asked for PTP's bank details so we can pay into their own account which they have refused to give me!!!!

Good luck with it all, everything will work out in the end :)

QQ's response (collections dept, after I contacted them as advised by 'support' - though I used email not phone)

We received your email regarding your loan balance and your situation has been noted. Your offer to pay £20,00 per month is an unacceptable payment arrangement as this is a payday in advance loan, there are no provisions in the contract to extend into an installment loan. However, any payment received will not be refused it will be credited to your account all collection procedures will continue until the entire balance is paid in full.

Please call our Collections Department to pay the £20,00 as we are unable to set up payment arrangements.

Be advised that QQ does not accept standing orders, nor giro slips.

So...if no SO and no giro slip (which hadn't even crossed my mind)...and no DD or Debit card (cos I'm really not daft enough to ignore all the advice here)...how to pay them the £20? Obviously I'm wise enough NOW to know not to call their Collections Department.

Oh, think they may have called my mobile while I was at work today - call came from +000000:confused:

lol 2 things are making snigger right now..

1. email from qq received at 9.36am GMT from a CST area (that's central usa for anyone who doesn't know). That means that someone was sitting firing out emails at 3.36am...not an office worker for sure so is QQ actually a little home-run business??

2. when u type [email protected] followed by [email protected] into the address bar of ur email, the second address is automatically put in brackets so that would appear to mean that the second email address is actually the first one in disguise...anyone following me here?? That explains why the lady who wrote to me yesterday from support also replied to the email I sent ONLY to collections but she slipped up and replied using the support address:P

Now I'm really nosy so I'm just gonna go and find out exactly where they sent the emails from...brb

Response to the last email I sent to QQ:

Thank you for contacting us to inquire about how to pay off your balance. Your current default balance is £49.50 and a payment is due immediately.

The payment plan we can offer is detailed below.

£49.50__________due 11/12/2009( default balance)

To confirm your agreement to this payment plan, please reply to this email stating that the terms are favorable. You must include the original email with the terms to which you are agreeing in your response. Once we have heard back from you, we will set up the agreed upon debits to come out of your bank account or be charged to your debit card.

£187.50__________due 13/11/2009...this contractual arrangement cannot be changed, cancelled or altered. You must contact us after due date to reset payment arrangements on the returned funds.

Collection procedures will continue until an acceptable payment arrangement is made.

If you have any queries, our Collections Department is here to help.

They're here to help? Yeah, help themselves!

I've explained to them very politely that their payment plan most certainly isn't favourable or agreeable and restated my offer to pay £20/month by SO.

I also dropped in that my advisor at the bank has assured me that it is illegal for them to set up DD's without my signed agreement and that no payments will be permitted on an invalid card. Also, my new a/c is basic and doesn't have DD facilities or a debit card so the only way to get money from me is to give me their bank details.

As they haven't mentioned my request to have interest/charges frozen whilst I get on top of things, I also asked them to specifically answer that.

I've been an avid reader of the forum but can't for the life of me remember which order I'm meant to do things in (just an age thing!)and would prefer not to spend the next three days re-reading everything (time constraints) so if anyone can advise me of my next step, I'd be grateful (am assuming I'll get another similar email from them soon rejecting my offer and stating their own)

Thanks in advance,

Dusty

pmsl. I was just looking at my contracts with QQ. Their site states 'typical APR 2356%'. First contract, the apr is about 52000%; 2nd was 164,204.87%...last one (from last rollover) APR: 334,420.82%. Hm..that has to be not quite right??

Hi,

I am in a similar position with qq. I have sent copies of my i and e, and an offer of payment, however, they still refuse to divulge their bank details. It has been 3 months now and 'collection activities' still continue. Im trying not to stress though because if you cant pay what they are asking, you just cant. I will keep you posted ....

Hi momma, good luck with them and I totally agree...no point getting stressed about things you can't affect.

Had txt msg from PDE today asking me to call them to arrange a plan. Guess I've some emailing to do when I get home later.

Good luck everyone and have a great weekend!

Notice of Payment Past Due

Dear XXXXXX,

Customer ID#: XXXXXXX

Total Amount Due: GBP 237.00

You currently have one or more payday loans from QuickQuid which are past due. You don't say?!Because of these overdue payments, your customer status has been changed to "In Default".

Below is the list of loans which are past due:

ID: xxxxxx

FUNDING DATE: 23/10/2009 AMOUNT: GBP 150.00 DUE DATE: 03/11/2009

At QuickQuid, we value your business and ask you to contact us immediately to resolve this matter. Tried that

In order to keep your customer status in good standing, and avoid further costs so you're ignoring my request to freeze charges/interest?, it is essential to repay these loans in full within 15 days from the receipt of this notice. lmao bout as much chance as me winning the lottery

If we do not receive a response, we will take that as a refusal to pay clearly told you that I do not refuse to pay and will take appropriate collections measures which include, but are not limited to, the use of a third party collections agency. go for it!(please)

If you have already made payment arrangements for the entire balance, please disregard this email.

If you have any queries, our Collections Department is here to help. Not seemed to want to help so far

Oh this really is like banging your head against the proverbial brick wall, isn't it?

Today's email from QQ:

We received your email regarding your loan balance and your situation has been noted. Collection procedures will continue until an acceptable payment arrangement is made.

Please call our Collections Department to set up a scheduled payment plan.

My (brief and to the point) reply:

As stated several times in my earlier emails to yourselves, I wish to set up a scheduled payment plan but this needs to be in writing for my own records. Please use email or post for future correspondence.

Again, I offer to pay £20/month.

Sincerely,

What next? Maybe they can't read...

They don't want to read, most of their so called employees are (IMHO) on a commission only basis and work from home, so technically they do not have any employees and therefore technically do not have to register with the various regulatory authorities. This is the crux of the issue, I believe ALL commission based employees should be registered and vetted the same as people who work with children, after all they are dealing with the most vulnerable sectors of our society... off soapbox now.

I wonder if the 'night time employees' of PTP (who somehow forgot that Malta has reciprocal (sorry about spelling) arrangements with the UK on fraud matters dating back to the Second World War) are actually employed from Malta I understand there are some very odd tax laws about 'home workers' there.

Again, with the way they try and hide where they are seems to indicate that maybe inadvertently their 'customers' are becoming a third party to money laundering.... (sorry for the paranoia). Anyone else notice the same recurring pattern here with the companies?

Emails i receive from QQ are initiated in Illinois (can do an IP trace to find out where they start) even though they come from a .co.uk address.

lol no Rob...I see no point in worrying about things that I can't change. I can't afford to pay all my debts due to a change in working hours which is out of my hands, so why should I worry - as I've seen here many times, they can't take what I haven't got! Having said that, I would like to make payments because eventually my hours will go back to normal (I hope) and I don't want all this debt to be lurking unresolved when they do.

What is worrying me is that in just two weeks, I've had this to deal with, followed by a letter from Cabot (don't know what about cos they asked me to call them and am waiting for an email response from them), and then a visit from Jacobs this morning demanding council tax....now I'm waiting to see what else is going to appear..

Love this forum though - in the last couple of weeks I've learned so much that I feel ready to tackle to anyone who presents a debt to me (probably haven't absorbed a lot of the detail but I'm now thinking that there's bound to be someone here who will be able to help me through whatever crops up and that takes a lot of stress out of it all:))

Bailiffs threads are my 'task for the day' because they've only given me 24 hours to contact them.

Cabot aren't worrying me yet because I have a feeling it's a credit card debt that I had back in July 2003 (last payment according to my credit file was then although they didn't default me until August 2007:confused:). If that's what they're after, my understanding is that the solution may lie in the terms of the agreement - if nothing else, I think I can hold them off for a while by asking for the CCA, etc..

Thanks for your input Rob, much appreciated:)
