Does anyone have one of these??

Is it worth a hundred quid?

If I were to get one, is there easy to use (free) software for

editing personal information and bad language from the sound files?

Absolutely worth every penny though I thought they were more about £50 for CAG Members;) However, I am concerned that one doesn't have to reveal one's calls are being recorded, thus evading the Data Protection Act, as they are for your personal use. BUT could the calls be used as evidence in one's own personal criminal case against an OC:confused:

ps. I can pm you an edited 'cracker' with MBNA:lol:

Dave, they are sound as a pound, I'll see how much they are for CAG members.

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

They are on ebay for £76 new. They are from an ebay shop (not a private sale), so you will get your full warranty.

trueCall Nuisance Call Blocker as seen on Dragons Den on eBay (end time 14-Oct-09 02:24:46 BST)

£97.50 on CAG

What about, "the special FREE card", for CAG'ers ?

And the free transcript service, as per Marc's announcement?

What about the "bleeping" software that I asked about, coz I'll

need it if I'm winding Moorcroft or RW&C up!!!

I would expect a "full warranty" wherever I bought it from!!

I do know my legal rights about recording, thanks guys... :)

I'ld rather buy from a CAG link if it puts £££'s into the CAG coffers...?

Dave,

Simple answer is GET ONE , I guarantee you wont be disappointed.

I got ours in order to prevent Capone making our lives a continueing nightmare - its worth every penny, think I paid £99 plus after sending a copy of the invoice to CAG (email first) I got the memory card for free.

It has stopped the creditors and dca's in their tracks, have had great fun zapping 'unwanted numbers' and those who withhold or have unknown numbers are told not to ring.

Barclaycard/Mercers & Calders were also ringing up to 8 times a day until we got True Call - that stopped them.

Now check the telephone log weekly, over the past month not one creditor/dca has phoned - they've finally got the message :D

As far as the memory card is concerned its priceless - you can record a call at anytime during the conversation simply by pressing a button and it will record the call from the very begining - this is priceless, I'am currently awaiting a court claim following a car repo (its a long story), basically the finance company have stated that they only have one recorded telephone conversation BUT thanks to Truecall I have every one of them recorded not only with the creditor (who have lied and misled me) but also the DCA and the guy who told me that if I didnt surrender the car they would seek a forced repo "which you really wouldnt want us to do Mr Beachy" (this was while the creditor was considering a restructure plan) in the end the car was repo'ed 6 weeks before the creditor ordered it.

All I need now is some means of a transcripting service.

GO GET ONE :lol::)

Scott, I'ld much rather buy one of these from a CAG approved source, that

would hopefully attract either a referral fee or a commission for the sale for CAG coffers..

Rather than get the cheapest possible from eBay or whatever...

Please get back to me on this!!

We offer them at about £97 including the recording card. this used to be the cheapest you could get anywhere as they were only available for about £125 including the card. We did this (and still do) by passing on our profit margin completely. We are more interested in getting people to record theri calls than making a profit out of them.

Now I see that some companies are selling them for as little as £73. This is without the recording card so that the price is broadly the same as getting it through us.

I suppose that the firms which are able to sell them so cheaply have been able to negotiate better discounts than we could. Also, I expect that they are operating on very slender margins.

I think that you could get them elswhere and save £2 or £3 pounds on our price.

We are happy to keep on passing on our profit and we would prefer that people buy them from us - even if it costs a small amount extra because we may at some point be able to negotiate a better reduction - which we would pass on.

And a legal answer to my other questions:confused:

Sorry, never read your post,

You don't have to disclose you are recording calls unless you are going to use the data for anything other than personal use. Personal use would include using it as evidence for Court purposes. Not sure about criminal cases, but it's probably the same arguably.

Regards.

Scott.

Sorry, Dave.

I've not got a clue about the 'bleeping' question, but someone will do.
