A defaulted account has dissapeared from my file. This was fairly recent so was not due to the 6 year rule. I questioned it with Experian as the account was in dispute when the default was issued.

I remember reading somewhere that the bank has 28 day to respond to a query and if they do not then it would be taken off. Is this right? If so then i presume this is what has happened as the company is renowned for being slack.

If this is the casse can they then put it back on at a later date?

If account is in in dispute before the default is issued then it is a breach of the data protection act and banking code therefore they cannot add it in the first place.

I am surprised Experian have took it off on their own accord unless the banks have told them too, usually they are a pain in the arse.

Wouldnt worry too much its been removed and while its under dispute it cannot go on your file.
