Hello All,

Just like to say first of all what an AWSOME community of people!

Right ive done alot of reading but just need some more accurate answers.

Ive recieved a letter from Moorcroft regarding some debt owed to orange.

Ive already sent a letter to orange asking them to send me exactly what i owe.

I have recieved many phone calls from Moorcroft :-x they just seem to keep ringing! They have now sent me anther letter from their PRE COURT DIVISION threataning to take me to court if i dont pay blah blah.

So what i need to know is,

How much can i offer to pay? and are their liable to accept?

What if they dont accept my payment? What can i do?

Are they allowed to request bank statements?

Just to delay things a little i will be sending them a general letter

Help will be much appreciated :D

I predict the next letter will be from their "home collections division" whenthey say someone will call on you. DFont be intimidated, it is unlikely anyone will come and if they do you can order them off your property anyway. Like the previous post you need proof you owe the debt before you even think of making any payments to them.

Good luck - I have these muppets on my back too for the past year but as yet they have been unable to produce anything that resembles an agreement - thanks to people on here they dont scare me anymore :-)

THats great, thanks for the quick responses!

Once they have proved my debt,

How much can i offer to pay? and are their liable to accept my agreement irrespective of amount?

What if they dont accept my payment? What can i do?

Are they allowed to request bank statements?

Once they have proved my debt, and you except that amount.have they not stated amount on letter?

How much can i offer to pay? and are their liable to accept my agreement irrespective of amount? what you can afford.depends on amount they want, and what you offer.

and they may offer a f&f offer.

What if they dont accept my payment? What can i do?

they will if you don't budge.and if in the rare instance they tried court action.

you have offered to repay and been refused;)

Are they allowed to request bank statements?

absolutely not.

Once they have proved my debt,

With many collectors that is a big IF, wait and see.

How much can i offer to pay? and are their liable to accept my agreement irrespective of amount?

No but judges take a dim view of actions being brought where you ARE trying to pay.

What if they dont accept my payment? What can i do?

More a question of what can they do.

Are they allowed to request bank statements?

No, nor any other financial information, only a court can order that.

As previously stated, make them prove you owe money before you offer them one single penny.

In the meantime you will get further letters, from various divisions, (actually the next desk along) including midaslegalservices which is STILL Moorcroft.
