Hi,

I'm hoping that someone on here can give me some advice..

Yesterday I parked on an NCP Car Park in Ipswich (Tower Ramparts), to enter the car park I was required to take a ticket from a machine in order for the entrance barrier to raise, which I did. I saw no notices saying where to pay and assumed that I was to pay when I wanted to leave the car park.

Upon returning to my car I found a yellow and black envelopes stuck to my window.. and inside was a Parking Fee Notice, saying that I entered the car park at 18.10 (which is wrong, it was 16.59), and that I needed to pay a fee of £15 to the attendant at the kiosk (the kiosk was closed by this time as it was 19.40). On the back of the Parking Fee Notice the Operational Hours were written in pen... 0800 - 1800hrs Mon - Sat and 10.00 - 17.00hrs on Sunday.

I was able to leave the car park with no problems, but as I live nowhere near Ipswich how do they expect me to pay? Or is this another [problem]?

Sorry for the long read, I hope someone can offer me some advice.

You got in OK, you got out as well. Job done. :)

It does sound unusual that you have to take a ticket on entry but that ou don't use the same ticket to pay and leave. I think I might have thought the same.

Await the many bits of paper they send you and you can decide then whether they are simply asking for a reasonable payment for your parking, or some extortionate amount of money. If the former you may wish to consider paying it (as you did use the service) if the latter best to go for the ignore route.
