Hi Poppy.

Are you still using the same bank account that they have the details for? If you are, get down to your bank in the morning and open a new basic bank account and get your salary and any other income transferred into that. If you don't, regardless of what you agree to they WILL take what they want.

Stop speaking to them on phone and deal with them in writing only - either email or snail mail. Keep copies of EVERYTHING.

Work out what you can afford to pay either weekly or monthly - make a realilstic offer that you know you'll be able to stick to, then send this offer to them. Pay ONLY by standing order and don't give them your new card or account details.

The worst they'll do after you do this is pass you onto a debt collection agency, who will be far easier to negotiate with.

I have dealt with Quick Quid before, and although I let the account default I reigned it in. I sent them a breakdown of my income and outgoings and although I was not able to come to a reasonable monthly payment plan with them they gave me a sort of payment holiday of two months to get my finances together, save up a bit of money and pay them back in two installments of £118.50. Eventually they listen. Email them on [email protected] AND collections@ AND their regular one. Copy all three departments in, there WILL be an arrangement you can come to.

They are kind of unhelpful over the phone, but once you have paid them back they immediately make their services available to you again (although I haven't used them since) and they tend to stay on good terms with their customers.

Good luck!

Hi i have cancelled my bank acc and the only way i would make a payment is via paypal as i do not trust them with my bank details or debit card, but they will only send me a link for paypal for £200.00 so i think i will be waiting until it goes to debt agency to deal with them x

Don't know anyone who has any experience of dealing with this via PayPal, to tell you the truth so I can't comment on how well it would work.

The reason people will tell you to use standing orders with them is that you get their bank details and they never get anywhere near yours. I firmly believe this is the safest way to pay the blighters.

My advise would be when they send you an e-mail just keep responding with what you have offered.

They seem to have a lot of 'automated' templates that they use to contact you. Some of which even contradict each other.

I re-iterate what others have said. DO NOT give them your bank details. I'm not sure how paying by paypal works, but can you set it up so that you pay back what you offer?

Hi Poppyflower. I was wondering if you could take 2mins to help me out a little. I was due to repay QQ £300ish for a £250 loan but due to a change in job and a lot less money, I was not able to make the payment. This was a week ago. I havent spoken to/emailed them yet and was wondering what I can expect. My main queries are: 1. You stated that you owe them 412 - was this the original repayment amount due to them by you for the loan, or has it increased to 412 from a lower figure after they added interest since the repayment due date? 2. If interest was added to your loan balance, how much and for how long? 3. You stated they wanted payments of 200 + 212 over two months to cover this. So have they stopped adding any interest now? How did you arrive at this situation - did you ask them to stop adding interest or have they sought only to reclaim the amount you defaulted on? Many thanks in advance for any advice to can respond, I want to be well prepared for when I start dealing with them. Noddle

Hi, this amount is from a small loan which has had interest on i kept getting another loan to pay the 1st one back, i cancelled my DD and reported my bank card lost so they could not take the funds out of my bank acc, QQ offered a payment plan but said my acc needed to be in default so i let it fall into default and then they said they wanted £200.00pm which i cannot afford, once your acc goes into default the interest will stop. If you havenot paid within 90days it goes to a debt collection agency who will contact you and arrange a payment plan, i want to pay £50.00 pm which QQ will not accept so i am letting my acc go to the debt agency and deal with them, this is my only choice.

Hi there

I have recently defaulted on a loan with these, for a huge £900! Long story....

They passed it onto a debt collection agency, but I can't remember what they are called now. Anyway, the agency are not interested in payment plans at all - they said that QQ customers cannot setup payment plans otherwise everyone would take out loans then default to pay it back over time, which does kind of make sense. They will only accept full payment. The attitude of the DCA stinks though, really unhelpful and arrogant, like all DCA's.

However, if you keep telling them you can't afford it, they usually cut the bill right down - they have offered me £590 to clear it, so in one phone call I have almost cut it in half.

Sorry it may not be the news you want to hear, but fight your corner and you won't have to pay back the full amount to the DCA - by the way, this only seems to be with the agency QQ use, I have defaulted with another PD loan company and went through another DCA who did accept a payment plan so you never know, you may get lucky

Poppy!

Im in debt with quickquid, I owe them £214 and when your on job seekers its impossible to pay!!

They are extortionate and dont listen to a word you say! Just ignore them! Let it pass to a third party debt collection agency, they will accept a much smaller amount from you.. OR!! You can go through the citizens advice bureau, they will MAKE them accept as little as £1 a month.. ive done this with all my debts and now only pay out £1 a month to all of them!

If you are on Jobseekers allowance get the CAB involved, they should be able to convice the company to write the debt off...

All I can say is that you need to safeguard your income from their 'raids' - Halifax, Co-op and Metro Bank all have good basic accounts, these include online services, in fact anything other than a cheque book and credit card and overdraft facilities.

I now use three bank accounts, one for my salary, one for the rent and household bills and one for everything else which is attached to Paypal. That wa NOBODY gets their hands on my income and they can only get what is in the other accounts when I put the money there.

I also refuse to do direct debits, people do huff and puff about this but you tell them your income is unstable and you need payment cards or alternative facilities, they CANNOT insist on Direct debit only so if anyone does report them to Trading Standards and the Office of Fair Trading. Of course there is nothing to stop you setting up an initial direct debit to please them then cancelling it in writing both to the original company AND your bank.

QQ are a prime example of a PDL company who refuse to entertain payment plans. If you want to pay by paypal they want your bank account details and card no and when I queried this denied everything... The best thing to do is wait to go to a DCA and then you will probably have more luck. I'm waiting for that now!

I also have PDL with QuickQuid, they dont listen to a thing, have sent numerous emails stating to converse in writing only, and not to call me at work. Do they take any notice NO!!!!!:mad2: They continue to call me at work, and have today sent an email stating they will be taking £624 from my bank account by DD at end of month. I have cancelled my card and keep checking my online banking, but cant see any DD set up..... How can I stop them from doing this. My salary being paid into my new bank account. But can they still take the money from my Natwest Step account??????

Write to NatWest and state that the company no longer are allowed to take money from that account by any method. By covering yourself this way you can then throw the blame onto NatWest if it does happen. Are you able to close that account down because that is another way of stuffing them. They SHOULD NOT go into closed accounts.
