I'm sure I'm not the only one to experience this.

The sign up to Opus was really easy. Someone, not authorised to make the decision, got a call from Opus while he was working. The offer of cheap electricity was made and this guy said OK. The monthly bills started at £81.90 which was OK. They then went up to £117, then £134. We then tried to terminate the contract and was told that because we hadn't given 60 days notice we were obliged to buy electricity from Opus for another twelve months (compare the difference of how easy to sign up to how difficult to leave). You can guess what happened, the bills went up to £223. I've just paid an extra £1183 as final settlement to terminate the contract. At the end they were charging me 18.75p per KWH, compared to the 8.9p that their salesman was offering to sign another contract. I feel so cheated by Opus I went to another supplier who's offer was slightly higher.

I’m sorry to hear about your experience and I’d like the opportunity to get to the bottom of what the problem was. Please email me directly at [email protected] -quoting CF002 - with details of your experience and we will conduct an investigation into what happened. Regards, Andy Nash, Operations Director

Hi moreton56 and welcome to CAG:)

It is not just people needing help and advice that use this forum. Lots of companies keep an eye on whats going on that is why we advise not using real names and making sure personal information is removed from posts.

It seems that Opus Energy are monitoring the forum and as Andy Nash in the above post says they want the chance to investigate and hopefully they will put it right.

You have got nothing to loose by giving them a chance to sort the matter out. Just let us know back here how you get on and how it hopefully is resolved:)

I too have a contract with opus, and what a nightmare they are to deal with !

I had seen the posts by Andy Nash on this forum, so today after a very harassing conversation with one of the "customer care"

staff who just took the problem round in circles I rang the number Andy Nash quotes on all the compaints forums to speak with him,but the

number takes you straight back to the junior staff, asked to speak to Mr Nash...refused...repeated the request.. refused another circle was being created. I insisted that the only person I would discuss my issue with was Mr Nash, My number was taken for him to return my call. I did not expect this to happen......but low and behold a lady call from operations management hey presto problem sorted in a polite and fair manner

within 5 minutes.

So don't waste your time energy and nerves on the rude young whipper snappers stick to your guns and escalate your problem to the higher level

insist you speak to andy nash.and someone with a human demeanor will call you.....eventually
