When you receive a DN does the 14 days plus 4 postage (for 2nd class) start from the date on the letter? ie date on letter 7th September date to rectify default 24th September? Any help much appreciated.

According to the Interpretion Act if you can prove the date you received the document that will be the date of service (so add 14 days to that).

If the envelope is postmarked then that might prove date of posting.

If you don't have either of them or any other evidence as to the date of posting, then the date on the DN would be used.

Thank you for that. Although it says the 7th September we didnt actually get it until Saturday 12th September but the envelope is UKmail and has the S in the box (which I understand is 2nd class).
