Barclays partner finance/lowell

I disputed a default on my credit file with experian.

 

Lowell had placed the default in 2004,i had no idea what this was refering to,so i disputed it.

 

Today i received this e-mail from experian......

 

Further to our recent correspondence, I have been contacted by Lowell Portfolio

I Ltd and Barclays Partner Finance . They have confirmed that the

details we hold are accurate and have requested that we retain the information

on our database. Unfortunately I am unable to amend this information without

the authorisation of the company in question.

 

The 'Notice of Dispute' will remain on your report for 28 days. It will then be

removed, unless I receive further notification from you:

 

"THE CONSUMER HAS DISPUTED THE ACCURACY OF THIS ENTRY AND WE HAVE THEREFORE

ASKED THE PROVIDER TO INVESTIGATE IT. GIVEN THAT THIS DATA IS DISPUTED, PLEASE

TAKE CARE IF MAKING AN ASSESSMENT OF ANY KIND THAT MAY INCLUDE THIS DATA."

I don't want to contact lowell by phone or otherwise if i can help it.

 

I did contact barclays partner finance,previously know as clydedale financial services.

They were very helpful,they searched their archives while i waited on the phone and could not find an account in my name,we tried all my old addresses and my previous surname,result zilch.

The customer advisor offered to phone lowell on my behalf,so i took her up on the offer,lowell have nothing either.

The reason i questioned this entry on my file was because i don't owe it.

I have never had any dealing with clydedale or barclays partner,i'm at a loss as to what to now.

I did tell the customer advisor at barclay PF i was quite happy to send in a SARS request and she told me there was no need she could give me the info i needed on the phone.

She is going to do a little more digging and call me back tomorrow,i have asked that she put her findings (or not ) in writing to me.

Lowell have searched my file 3 times in the past month but as yet i have not heard from them regarding the amount i am supposed to owe.

Would it be a good idea to send a SARS request to BPF.

Or wait for lowell to write to me.

It is the CRAs responsibility along with Lowells that any information they handle & report is accurate. You should complain to the ico https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx

It beats me how they can justify the default in the first place let alone it to remain on my file,when they can't back it up with any proof of a debt in the first instance.

 

Off to make a complaint ICO.

would wait untill lowell contact you.

 

and send a nice letter of complaint asking them what they are on about.

 

would include a copy of what you get back from BPF.

I'll be calling on you when i get their threat 'o' gram if you don't mind,i'm expecting it any day now.

 

I get the reputation thing now,being a newbie i did'nt know how it worked.
