Just looked at my Vodafone bill and guess what

New Item

3 Months Free Insurance £1.35

Credit 3 Months Free Insurance -£1.35

I never asked them for any insurance

Phoned them up, said "don't even go there"

Answer: We shall make sure it gets removed, before it is billed and send you a letter to that effect.

They tried it on last year with Itemised billing charge, which I have had for severals years for free.

Wonder what the next [problem] will be to try and increase my monthly bill?

In addition to Bookworm's comment - make sure they confirm it in writing too. Vodafone pulled this same stunt on me, and I cancelled the insurance - they confirmed it in writing, but the amount still appeared on my next 2 bills, leading to a "nice" conversation each month to get it removed

Cheers

Michael

I use to work at Singlepoint (airtime provider) on the vodafone network. They were brought out by vodafone and I do believe that the staff (Singlepoint) now do the selling part for vodafone. If this is the case, be very cautious. Singlepoint were notorious for putting on "Insurance" on customers account without the customer knowing and in addition they use to charge £25 for a failed DD (I saw NO manual intervention).

It seems that the very common practice that was carried out regularly at Singlepoint is now being spread to vodafone. I wonder why

Note: Insurance in inverted commas for very good reason.
