I apparently parked overhanging a T shape today, as I recieved a fine for it.

It was in a council car park (I assume - it was Bootle lesuire centre)

It was very poor visibility at the time and the T shape doesn't extend all the way down the length of where the car would be parked.

 

Are these grounds to appeal the ticket? Is there anything specific I should look/ask for to make it invalid?

Yes, they are grounds for appeal, as the local authority can use discretion for an informal appeal. You don't necessarily need a robust legal case.

 

It's impossible to comment on the validity of the bay markings. Maybe if you have an image of the parking space, you could put one on here? Or how does it look on Google Earth?
