I bought a laptop in March from Telephones Online.


It came with a 12 month warranty, and I've had to send it back faulty in this time period.


A few questions really, any advice would be brilliant!


A) Does the company have to extend the warranty on the machine for another 12 months after repairing it?


B) Does the company have to extend the warranty on the parts they repaired for an extended period of warranty?


C) Do I have the right to a letter or report of explanation of what the fault was for my records?


D) Does the fact it was a factory refurbished machine have any bearing on my rights?


E) If I am not happy with this result would I be entitled to a refund in any way?

Hi I'm no expert however IMHO the answer to all questions no,

A) any warranty is in addition to your consumer rights

B) there is no requirement to extend a warranty period

C) you could request a report

D) your rights are unaffected

E) you have allowed a repair IMHO you would not be automatically entitled to a refund.


Your rights under SoGA will give you the protection you require
