I am posting on behalf of a friend.

He took out a loan 5 years ago, and was sold PPI, which he paid monthly (i presume this was added to the loan, but i need to check). He went back 2 weeks after taking it out, requesting to cancel it.

He was told he couldn't, and if he didn't use it, he would get it all back at the end anyway.

The loan was due to finish this month, so he went into their branch a month ago, checking he would receive the money he had paid over the last 5 years. A clerck confirmed this.

The loan has now finished, and he hasn't received any money. After going into branch, he was told he was not entitled to it. He complained, and one of the staff looked at the notes, and said the clerck who confirmed this a month ago was wrong and she has now been fired.

He has a meeting booked with a manager, but they are saying he will only get back some of the money at best.

Is this a case of mis-selling ? How would be best to manage this, as it seems the service & information he has received from HSBC staff has been at fault throughout the entire process.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
