I wish to start the process of reclaiming the mis-sold PPI by Halifax for my Visa credit card; I’m unable to find a calculator specifically for credit cards does one exist? The amount to be claimed is £3841.89 this dates back 11 years, plus unfair charges of £480 without interest.

Follow this thread for a summary of my battle with Halifax thus far.

Hi SL1212,

In my experience Halifax are the most reasonable when reclaiming mis-sold PPI.

Send your complaint letter with reasons for reclaiming asking for all repayment of ppi premiums, plus contractual interest added on payments made, plus 8% simple interest to be added to each payment made.Halifax will calculate interest in terms of contractual and simple so you dont have to worry about that.

My claim was on a card that started in 2001 and they paid up.

They were to one company who dealt with the claim in eight weeks and money was repaid a month after.

Herman thanks for replying.

My PPI payments date back to 1996.

I have 19 months of statements missing from the beginning of the agreement, so they have also failed to respond fully to my SAR which was sent to them December 2007.

I've just finished putting all of the PPI payments into the calculator and will use your formula to calculate further, once I have completed that I'll post here what I estimate they owe me.

Regards
