If a credit card company writes and asks you to cut up the card and return it, can it be assumed that they have terminated the account?

DO NOT RETURN THE CARD!!!

 

The signature on the back can be used against you.

 

Bin it, burn it lose it or use it for scraping the ice of the car windscreen - but DO NOT SEND IT BACK IT THEM.

do as above states, these cards have been used in court cases as proof of the debt. DO NOT RETURN THE CARD.

No, it does not necessarily mean that the account has been terminated:

 

Section 87(1)

(b) to demand earlier payament of any sum.

 

As others have advised, do NOT return the Credit Card.
