I believe its more that the debt gets sold on, the CCJ should then I believe be registered against the new owner of the debt at the courts, this they have to apply for I think.

 

You might want to ask in the legal forum for more replies.

It is my understanding that a CCJ directs to whom payment must be made and the amount of any instalments, and only the Court can vary this.

 

So, whilst it might be possible to assign a debt upon which a CCJ has been obtained, none of the details of the judgment can be changed without an application to Court.

 

I'd be inclined to point out to any company claiming to have bought a CCJ debt that the Court had issued an order with which I was complying, and regretting that I was unable to enter into further correspondence.
