1 Elephant (medium)

Brown Gravy (Watkins Beef Soup & Gravy Base)

Watkins Sea Salt & Watkins Pepper

Two Rabbits (optional)

Cut elephant into small bite sized pieces. This should take only about two months. Add enough gravy to cover. Cook over kerosene fire for about four weeks at 465 degrees. Makes about 3,800 servings. To extend it add rabbits, but do this only if necessary as most people do not like to find hare in their stew.

I must admit i am really amazed at the recipes coming through,the pictures of the dishes make you lick your lips in anticipation of trying to produce something that hopefully will look like yours. If anyones got any time ,have you any suggestions for a reasonably priced homemade dessert,fruit anything. All the recipes so far would be within my budget,and really have surprised me.Thankyou for taking the time to write them down.Truly amazing, thankyou, please keep them coming.Tawnyowl.

cook some pasta

 

in a separate pan fry an onion with some garlic, add some chopped ham/bacon/chicken/prawns and some brocolli separated into small florets. Add a tin of tomatoes. When brocolli is cooked add to the pasta and grate in some cheese.

Fry some mince and onions and mushrooms... add a tin of tomatoes and a jar of the hot doritos dipping salsa.

 

Pour into a ovenproof dish, top with mashed potatoes, sprinkle over some crushed crisps and cheese, put in the oven on about 200 for 20 minutes.

I make a excelent cheesecake but I don't measure most of the ingredients

 

What I do know, 500g full fat cream cheese, 200 mil cream icing sugar (duno how much... erm 4 desert spoonish) and juice of half a lemon all mixed together for the top. The base is 12 digestive biscuits crushed by putting them into a sandwich bag / freezer bag and whack the heck out of it with a roling pin :p and 1/3rd a pack of butter melted in the microwave for 20 - 30 seconds mixed together and pressed into the base of a springform cake tin, put the top cheesy mix on top and fridge overnight. It's a little less firm than you'd get from a shop baught one, but it tastes out of this world! I made a bigger one for a friends birthday (Doubled the ingredients), and added some hot chocolate to half of it, and put the chocolate layer on the bottom and the white creamy layer on top, then topped with some chocolate sauce. By the time I got my camera ready there was only 1 piece left! Here is the pic!

Fool-proof method for cooking boiled rice for curries, etc.

(For two portions).

 

Put half a cup of Basmati rice in a pyrex bowl. Add a whole cup of water.

Cover with cling film and vent.

 

Place in microwave. Cook on auto-defrost for eight minutes (800W oven). With our microwave oven this gives approx ten & half minutes cooking time.

 

At the end of the time, all the water should have been absorbed.

 

Tip rice into a LARGE seive and quickly fork through to break up any clumps.

 

Finally, pour a kettle of boiling water through the rice to remove any glutinous starch.

 

Drain and serve.

 

Result is light and fluffy rice that doesn't stick together.

Nice quick recipe for caramel bananas

 

4 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup icing sugar

2 Tablespoons water

200 mil clotted cream

50g Butter

Gently heat butter in pan, add the sugar and the water and stir over heat until sugar dissolves. Do not boil at this stage. Stir in cream, bring to boil and add chopped bananas.

Serve with ice cream.

 

 

Even quicker recipe for Strawberry Icecream! (although you don't get much for your money, it is really really nice, and people won't believe you made it yourself!) one thing you will need is a food blender.

 

 

 

6 - 8 strawberries (frozen)

200 mil whipping cream

25 g icing sugar (I get trhugh a lot of that... can you tell?)

 

Put cream in the blender and whip it, add the strawberries and icing sugar and blend 'till all becomes... well... icecream LOL

Easy pudding, tin of apricots, or fresh, cooked in a little water until soft.Put in oven proof dish then cover with crumble, 6 or 8 oz of flour add half amount in butter (3 or 4 oz) rub together between fingers until breadcrumbs, add about 3 oz of sugar. Spread over fruit and put in oven for about 20 to 30 mins on 180 or gas 4. You can also use cooking apples, which you can peel, slice finely and cook slowly until soft, then add sugar to taste.

  • banana leaves, as needed

    Fill the carps with the dates and the eggs. Fill the turkeys with the carps.

    Fill the sheep with the turkeys.

    Fill the camel with the sheep.

    Dig a large pit.
  7. 7
     
    Place about 500 kilos of charcoal in the pit and light them.
  8. 8
     
    Wrap the camel in the banana-leafs and place in the pit.
  9. 9
     
    Cover with earth and bake for two days.
  10. 10
     
    Serve with rice.

Sausages in a pan

 

Ingredients

1 pack sausages

1 tin tomatoes

1 Onion sliced

Garlic (optional)

Frozen Peas

Mixed Herbs

Seasoning

Potatoes

 

Method

Brown the sausages in a frying pan with a little oil. When browned set aside. Soften the sliced onion (and garlic if desired), tip in the tinned tomatoes (cut the whole ones in half), frozen peas, mixed herbs and salt and pepper to taste. (You may want to add a little tomato puree as well) and return the sausages to the pan. Simmer for about 20 minutes to reduce the sauce down while you do the boiled or mashed potato.

It is also good with pasta.

Would enjoy the low carb recipe.At the moment like a walking skeleton,so looking forward to a huge cheesecake.But perhaps your recipes wou;d be warmly welcomed.It would be a welcome addition to this thread i am sure.You should have sent it to a publisher,its now turned up to remind you.:)

I'm never cared much for fruitcake, but I may try this one.

1 Cup Water

1 Cup Butter

1 Cup Sugar

4 Large Eggs

2 Cups Dried Fruit

1 teas. Baking Soda

1 teas. Salt

1 teas. Vanilla Extract

1 Cup Brown Sugar

2 Cups of Flour

1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice

1 Cup Chopped Nuts

1 Gallon Wine

Sample the wine to check for quality.

Take a large bowl.

Check the wine again to make sure that it is of the highest quality.

Pour 1 level cup and drink.

Repeat if you're not sure.

Turn on the electric mixer and beat 1 cup of butter in a large fluffy

bowl.

Add 1 tsp. sugar and beat again.

Make sure the wine is still okay. Cry another tup.

Turn off the mixer.

Break two legs and add to the bowl along with some Vanilla Extract and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.

Mix on the turner.

If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it loose with a drewscriver.

Sample the wine again to check for tonsisticity.

Next sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Who cares.

Check the wine.

Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.

Add 1 table. Spoon. Of sugar or flour or something. Whatever you can find.

Grease the oven.

Turn the cake pan to 350 degrees.

Don't forget to beat off the turner.

Throw one bowl out the window.

Check the wine again. Go to bed.
