Can i just point out that the information on this line isnt up to date either!

I telephoned them about a bailiff that came to me door, and according to the fella he wasnt certified and hadnt been since May 08.

Well i contacted the county court local to the firm and low and behold he was certified and had been since May 08 and is until May 2010.

So please be careful, none of these methods are guaranteed methods of finding out about the bailiffs certification.

There are approx 65 County Courts around the country who deal with the certification of bailiffs and they are well aware that they should be providing details to the Ministry of Justice of the following:

Details of a pending application for a Bailiff Certificate.

Confirmation when the Certificate has been granted.

Details of any Bailiff Certificate that has been cancelled.

Copies of Form 4 Complaints from the public.

Sadly, it is the case that there are errors but I understand that bailiff companies have been asked to advise MOJ of any errors and therefore it is hoped that the register will shortly be much more accurate.
