Earlier this year my brother received a parking ticket whilst on his work duties. He's a postman. He appealed with Redbridge Council, explaining that he was on duty and they accepted his argument, they cancelled the ticket.

Today, we had a bailiff from Equita call by and say that they were here to collect £500 for the parking ticket and their fees. If this was not paid, they would be bringing a tow truck to remove the vehicle. Of course, we paid him to keep the car. He said we could get the money back from Redbridge council/Northamptonshire courts if we explained the situation.

We called Redbridge council and they said that the parking ticket had indeed been invoked. Apparently we now need to speak to Northamptonshire courts. Northamptonshire said they are sending an 'Out of Time Witness Statement' for us to complete.

Are we entitled to get the money back? Please help, any advice will be greatly received.

You need to ask TEc for the date that the Warrant of Execution was issued and also ask them for the address on the warrant and the PCN number. Their number is 08457 045 007.

Tomtubby, I tried to get this information out of TEC the other day (name and address on warrant) and they refused to give it to me. I also asked to see a copy of the local authority's Statement of Truth (in relation to an OOT stat dec which has been refused) and they wouldn't give me that either.

They just said go back to the council and get the above from them.

Can you advise?
