Hello all your advice would be very helpful as i really dont know what to do with my problem at the minute.

Basically i was at university and had to leave for various reasons and hadnt paid off my student accomodation (exchange works, sheffield.) I tried to get a new tenant for my room but with no luck.

I recieved no letters from exchange works asking for payment, in july my mother (my gurantor) recieved a letter from apex credit management saying that i owe them £2718.18.

I have been in constant contact with apex credit management and have offered them to pay the debt off, various payment plans etc but they have rejected everything i offer them.

Being a student i have very little money i earn enough money having a part time job with the agency.

Apex continued to send letters and make phone calls and told me basically that i had to pay them £388.14 every month for the next 7 months. If not my gurantor would be taken to court etc etc.

I dunt know if this was the right decision but i agreed to this and have since paid 1 payment to apex. I cannot afford to pay this amount of money, its a hell of alot considering i earn under this amount a month.

In desperate need of help.:(:(:(

thats some crazy ammounts offered by them over 7 monts at 388 per month, i work full time and would struggle with that !

and when there threathing to take you to court, its all empty threats as usual, when you say you offered them various plans were there reasonable proposals, and in writing to them? if so, keep the letters for future references to show you been reasonable,

more advice will come from other members !

They are being unreasonable in not accepting your offers of payment.....I would report them to the OFT...

The OFT say it is an unfair practice

2.6 f. pressurising debtors to pay in full, in unreasonably large instalments, or to increase payments when they are unable to do so
