Hi All

My Husband recently got a parking fine.

However he parked there at mid-day and the time on the ticket was 12.35, your allowed to park on the retial park for 3 hours.

The ticket on his car was not compelted and had not been ticked so when the fine came through in the post it said he had left the retail park!!

We have sent 2 letters back to UKPC but they have been ignored and standard letters demanding payment have been sent back, we have now had 2 debt collectors letters which we have written back and strongly said this is in dispute as the original ticket had never been compelted.

The last debt collectors letter says a County Court Judgment will be issued if we do not pay within 7 days!

Does anyone know where we stand as the original ticket on his car had not been compelted?!?

Do we just ignore the letters as it seems most people do and hope they go away where do we stand legally, any help / advise would be really appreciated.

Many thanks

Caroline

Legally, they're only entitled to their actual losses and any alleged contract is only with the driver at the time.

No money in that though - much easier to buy the keeper's address and bombard them with letters for some ludicrous amount.

It's a mail [problem]. [problem] depends on you becoming scared / worried about court / not knowing about CCJs etc.

Just carry on ignoring. It's pure junkmail.

Just for your information, a County Court Judgement cannot be just be 'issued' and to say so is actually probably fraud.

Just ignore everything and they will go away. They won't take you to court. You may get letters for a bit longer because you fell for the first part of the [problem] and actually contacted them, but just sit tight and have a good laugh at what comes through your letterbox next.

He actually got an invoice (i.e. begging letter for money)

As you have now found out, you have completely wasted your time and money by trying to reason with these clowns, as Al says ignore anything else they send you.

The last debt collectors letter says a County Court Judgment will be issued if we do not pay within 7 days!
