Hi there

I have run into serious financial difficulties and the cheque for a congestion charge fine of £180 has been bounced by my bank.

Transport for London have issued a letter notifying me of this and requested a cheque.

I simply do not have the funds to pay this fine.

Does anyone have any advice from a legal or personal experience standpoint?

Many thanks, Karen

Hi. K

I think it might be worth phoneing them to try and make a payment plan.

i know this aint much help but worth a try.

My advice is based on my opinion and my experience. It is not to be taken as legal advice as I am not legally qualified

If my advice has been helpful, please take a moment to click on the scales

Prioritise this debt as it will escalate and leave you up to your neck in it. You are better off paying it asap and not paying other bills if possible as they are unlikely to get to the baliff stage. Banks, utilities etc are easier to put off than a Tfl charge which will have the baliffs around before you know it. If it comes down to it sell the car if you still have it as if you don't pay it will disapear anyway.
