I had 3 payday loans live. Payday Express, Quick Quid and Pounds Till Payday. Got made redundant mid July and informed all three. PTP and QQ had direct debits which I cancelled and PE had my debit card.

Firstly PE took theirs back off my card and today QQ have done the same putting me right in the crap. PE I expected as they had the card but I can't believe QQ could do this legally. Reading through others' threads it seems they can, though......is that right ?

PTP I owe the most (£584) and I'm hoping they haven't got my debit card details too....

I can't pay all my rent now, less than half. Let's hope my home's not jeopardised. I've written to the agency apologising for the shortfall right now.....

What a bloody mess....while I'm aware it's MY fault for taking these things out in the first place it's because I needed to to keep my head above water.

I've given my car back to the HP company, had a water meter installed, an electric key meter installed....it's just a nightmare. When's this government going to help single people with no kids to just pay their way in this country without having to resort to these measures ?

It's just sheer desperation right now for me and there's nobody that's interested in helping out there-nobody.

Hi lyda- don't despair as lots ok these forums have done the same as you and many with more loans than you. Your priority is to keep your income safe by either continually checking that these companies are not setting up direct debits or by getting new bank account.

There are ways of dealing with these companies and your ones are easily dealt with. Have a read of these forums and shout if you need any help.

Overall protect your bank account and they will have to accept reaonable offer of repayment. Only offer what you can comfortably afford.

Post again if you need help or a sympathetic ear.

Thankyou very much indeed. PTP phoned today and will consider letting me pay in instalments. She's phoning again next week after I get my JSA to see what I can afford...

Hi Lynda

Thats the first time I have heard of them accepting an arrangement. I suspect they will probably want more than you can afford. Don't be bullied by them. If you are on JSA I suspect £1 per month would be deemed reasonable. They will then probably pass to Clarity who are fine to deal with.

Quick Quid will only come to an arrangement if you can pay over 3 months. They then pass to DCA who are generally easier to deal with and in the UK.

Don't know much about payday express.

Please remember they can only have what you can reasonably afford.

Post again if you need to.

I've already told her they won't get the full amount or even close to it this coming month but she stated it would be better if I've attempted to prove I'm prepared to pay something. As yet we've not agreed a price.

Had an email from Quickquid apologising and offering ANOTHER loan if I want one which I've declined.

I've heard nothing from my letting agent which is a bit of a worry but hopefully they're not going to try and boot me out.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Lynda

Just a thought have you cancelled your debit card with your bank? I had a simaliar thing happen to me with debit card payments where a company was still taking money out after i cancelled a subsciption and the bank couldnt stop it and said you have to tell the company to stop taking further payments. In the end I just informed my bank I had lost my card so was issued with a new one (new number) and hey presto the buggers couldnt help themselves anymore:D maybe worth you doing the same for peace of mind. Best of luck to you.

I was going to do that but it's only PTP outstanding now who don't have my debit card, plus I had mine hacked last year and it was a nightmare getting everything swapped over. I use it all the time to pay for everything....good thinking though, thankyou. I'm checking my bank account daily to ensure another DD isn't set up though.
