I paid my monthly payment to MBNA on the night of the 5th, due for the 9th of this month. They now say that it is not processed during the daytime (as stated in " 2 working days " but nights, it would be processed thursday and monday, meaning it gets paid by tuesday. They are now hitting me with charges, even though the money came out my bank on the 6th.

The woman was a cheeky *****, if she worked for me she wouldn't have a job much longer. Asked for a manager, she said it takes 24 hours "on a working day" so I now have to wait til monday for a callback to discuss this.

Is my argument that they say on their site "payments will be credited within 2 working days" ie, thursday, credited friday, a valid arguement?

Thanks for any help.

It doesn't matter - what matters is that charges for late payment are unlawful and you should claim them back

Checked my online statement, as it seems, the payment has been forced through overnight :) for a sum of money more than I actually paid! no charges added whatsoever either. I will however follow up on what you said steven. I've drafted a letter for them, where and to whom should I send it?
