Have you ever been the 1 to ring up a DCA & demand that they answer your security questions before you can proceed...

Then ask if they wish to pay by debit or credit card?

I always ask my own security questions when they ring me!!

 

I make them wait whilst I get the relevant folder then ask for their Company number and address of their registered office. Quite funny how many either won't or can't give this basic info and will keep on arguing that it is me that should be answering their questions.

 

If it gets boring I accuse them of being the Phonejacker!!

 

I count it as a win if they hang up on me - and I haven't lost yet!!!

Ask them if they believe in the miracle of the Lord. Amuse yourself by timing how long they continue to stay on the line after that!

 

If they persist, then I suggest singing 'Together at the River'. Obviously, for Marlin, this should be changed to 'When the Tough Get Going', or Tori Amos for MacKenzie Hall.

I suppose my crowning moment in a call is telling one dim call jockey I had died by falling into an industrial ice cream maker. I didn't get much further than that, sadly. I was going to tell him that it was not a pretty sight - what with the body being pulled out with cornets stuck inside the eye sockets.

I now say 'no' when they ask if it's me (because they usually pronounce my name wrong) and then it throws them because it's not in their script.

 

Security questions are great because they aren't in their scripts either. Power to the people!

I answered the phone to a cupid stunt from RMA once, he asked for me X, I said yes thats me, so he started blabbing on about how it is an offence to try and avoid paying my debts, he never asked one single security question and disclosed all sorts of information to me.

 

After he had been ranting on for about five minutes I said who did you want again, he said Mr X, I oh sorry thought you said Mr Y, but thanks for telling me MR x's business. I will be sending the recording to ICO. Never known a phone go down so fast. LOL made may day.
