Hi just wondered if anyone could advise where we stand on this. At start of year had two bailiff visits re CT arrears anyway to cut long story short were able to pay in full a couple of months ago, full payment of amount outstanding plus £42.50 for fees was paid direct to council. Have now started to receive letters from bailiffs again including one hand delivered advising removal notice re unpaid council tax of £42.50! Presuming council haven't passed on fees although made clear at time payment was made that fees were included. Can I now insist they pay this over and tell bailiffs to get it from council??

If you can prove that you have paid this, then tell them to go forth and speak to the council about their fees.

Write a letter of complaint to the council and if they fail to act then follow up your complaint with the ombudsmans service
