Hi

I have been with BT Broadband until rather than restricting my service for a late bill they completely cancelled it then told me i would have to go through a new order which would take around 6 days to complete.

Basically told them to do one and i would be going with a provider who treats their customers better.

My line showed that their was still a MAC code needed so i rang BT for it. They informed me that as the broadband had been cancelled they could not issue me with a MAC Code and would have to wait 14 days for the line to become free.

Does anyone know if this is right? As i dont see why i should have to wait all this time without any broadband because of them.

Thanks

That is correct. If they had not cancelled you a MAC code would've been best, failing that you have to wait until the line is clear before ordering broadband

This link wil show you when the line is clear ADSL Checker I appreciate you won't have your own connection for testing it... maybe get a friend to keep checking it and ley you know the day it becomes clear?

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)
