2 defaults same debt

So basicaly the same debt the original creditor has added a default for 1 amount and has sold it to a dca and the dca has now added another larger amount as a default to my wifes credit file.Now who do i go after for this the dca or original creditor as not sure who has to remove there default.

Tell the DCA to remove their default and send copies of the letter to the credit reference agencies, making sure you emphasise to them that the same debt has been defaulted twice. Also, the DCA has no legal right to add charges.

Ty for reply the default by the original creditor is less than in the last letter she had stating that it had been sold on and the dca amount is 1 pound less than the amount in the letter from the OC but it is still 85 pound more than it says on the credit reports when the default was added originaly so what is right lol if you catch my drift.

It's impossible to tell what it should be without statements and you can get those by sending the OC a SAR. Whatever it is, the DC had no right to enter a default on her credit reports.
