At the start of our AST, the landlord agreed (in writing) to sign documents to release us early from our AST, provided we give him 2 months notice of our intention to vacate.

We have now given notice that we will be vacating the property early. Are there any forms we should have the landlord sign to confirm that he releases us from our obligations on X date and agrees to return bond of X amount? We don't want to hand over keys and then have problems later on (ie him saying he didn't agree to release us early, wanting rent paid, saying we are in breach etc).

Thanks.

Get him to sign a letter saying that he is happy for the tenancy agreement to end with no further obligations for rent and associated bills after that date.
